Just like video games life has tutorials, lessons and levels it has power ups and boosters. But much like #Leagueoflegends #roguecompany or #Mariokart racing if you don’t know how to use it, you might as well just toss it or lose it. Life, Love and Business all carry the same power ups and when you learn something about one power up in an area of life, love or business, you can almost always translate it (in way shape or form) to the others.

So, let’s talk about the 3 main Power Up's that can boost you toward success be it in life, love or business. Ladies and Gents, we are talking about Energy, Education and Expectations

𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲: It's really important! Who wants to talk to a dying plant versus a living puppy? From answering phones, greeting people, and texting to the mood your content and team has. energy- is something that can fix a lot of problems and change the way the universe reacts to you, your discoveries or your brand!

This being said energy requires balance, which for everybody can be different depending on their values and focus on that time in life. I feel I should mention that we should never coast on low energy... in any aspect of our lives. If something like work gives you dead energy or sucks energy from you, it is important (even if your family focused) that dead energy or energy syphon is removed. Balanced energy allocation across the board can be the difference between depression and a positive outlook while in an ideal world we would all know our balance; it takes times and consideration to find.

If you don't know your focus at this time, consider a vision board or writing out everything that floats to mind when you say the words important, goals, love, and passion, talent and build from there!

𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: The best leader is always open to learning, understanding that you could never truly know and absorb everything about anything. The only way that anybody can continue to grow is to continue to learn, if you refuse to learn, be taught or coached you’re refusing to grow. And the moment you stop learning and growing is the moment you can no longer be a leader BECAUSE you will fall behind on trends, you won't keep up with the latest and you will get passed by those who are trying new things and pushing the limits of their knowledge.

We learn to read and to write, and we learn to ride a bike. Sometimes you learn in school, sometimes you learn outside of school. Everything we go through in life teaches us something it's up to us to pay attention to the lesson and understand the subject matter.

𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: You know what scares people and animals? The unknown. That’s why everything we do we feel more confident the more we know and are able to prepare for or expect. In life & business we will mentor, guide or comfort those around us even without us knowing it. When we tell someone what they can expect, what they can prepare for it establishes an immediate bond of trust and comfort.

Just like we tell a toddler to expect safety when they sleep in their own bed, that if they have a problem, they can expect it is okay to come get us, we can give that same level of comfort to our teams and clients when we tell them this is what is going to happen and if there is a problem, they can expect it is okay to come get us.

The most important factor of expectations is to always meet or exceed them. If you tell someone you will be there for them, be available to be there for them. If you tell someone to expect growth, then there should be measurable growth to some degree. Trust is always harder to fix then break so do your best not to let anyone down!

I have about a year's worth of college physical therapy course work (that I aced) that was built in between running/ opening gyms with boutique trainers to retired Bellator fighters and traveling New York trainings for opening and running gyms, fitness instruction (𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘤 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘱) and that was only after I became a self-taught nutritionist when I had to do the work for a sloppy manager/certified nutritionist who didn’t want to show up for her clients (𝘭𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘺 𝘮𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘢𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘣𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬).

The nutritionist knowledge only came after I was certified in general and commercial lines insurance with a company who “didn’t expect me to pass the test 1st try” and mentally were not prepared to make good on the promised promotion and pay raise that would make the drive worth it.

The insurance job was only offered to me when my ENERGY impressed the insurance firm owner while I was serving her at a Smoke House BBQ restaurant I had to work for when I moved from North Carolina where I had made my income as a military homecoming Photographer but couldn’t make it among the Dallas Photographer heavy market.

Now here I am! Twice published for something I was briefly introduced to, never went to school for, but because I boosted my energy, education and always met or exceeded expectations while helping people and brands with everything I’ve learned while mostly undoing damage “degree holding professionals” did.

Not just for social media but for brand and business development as well.

So go forth and start applying the power ups you have waiting for you to apply and boost your life, love and business.
